Moving

Finally I can share my news with you guys. I'm moving out! Will be getting my own place by the end of January. A very small place but at least it's going to be mine and just mine which has never happened before so I'm really looking forward to it.
I will be living with my boyfriends mother outside of Paris for two weeks (from the 3rd to the 20th of January) because I can't move into the new place until then. At least I know I will have good company and I'll not be paying rent! The only real challenge there is is the language cause as you all know I don't speak french and it happens to be so that she doesn't speak English.
Challenge excepted! At least I will improve my language skills.

Ben & Jerry's

My boyfriend and I decided to go out for a little walk to get a cup of coffee or something small to eat. As soon as we get out of the building and walk around the corner he finds a 10 pound bill just laying there on the ground. How great is that!
We ended up getting some ice cream at Ben & Jerry's instead so now I'm sitting on the bed, enjoying Strawberry Cheesecake and Vermonster while my love is watching a movie in french with one of his roommates and the roommates brother in the living room. This should give me some time to wrap his gifts for tomorrow. I'm excited to see what he is going to think!

A relaxing day

Spent my entire day together with my better half doing absolutely nothing.. productive. There is that small voice in the back of my head telling me to get up and get going but I have good company and good movies so I just ignore it and enjoy being a little lazy.
Tomorrow is his birthday and so we have to go to Waitrose to buy some groceries.
Although today has been lazy a lot of things have happened that I haven't been able to freely discuss with you on my blog but now that it's all sorted out I can inform you what I have been up to.
But you will have to wait a little cause I'm leaving the apartment now.

What a cliffhanger..!

Towards London

Had a stressed morning and I even had to take a cab to Gare du Nord just to make it on time for the Eurostar train to London. Thankfully there where no lines and I just walked straight through the whole set up of metal detectors and security.

Now I'm sitting by the window and can finally relax. Might to get something to eat. Since I didn't have anything at the apartment I haven't had any breakfast so it's safe to say I'm getting quite hungry.

Cyber cafe

Blogging from something as fancy as an internet cafe. It took me forever to find a place open at this time of the day and the one I was directed to wasn't there. I was at the right address and I even talked to a lot of people. Enough about that. The guy at the restaurant directed me to his mostly used internet cafe and here I am!

Just printed out my eurostar ticket for tomorrow and as soon as I have published this I will be getting a bus back home to the apartment where I have some packing to do.

Very tired and the only thing I can think of right now is sleep, but that will have to wait.

Flying back to Paris

After spending a few wonderful days with my family it's time to go back to Paris tomorrow. Not that I will be staying long because at 11 in the morning the day after (on the 29th) I will be taking the eurostar train to London to spend NYE with my boyfriend. Very much looking forward to that!

Cousins birthday party

Today I went to the mall with my to siblings and my dad to exchange some wolly slippers (I got two of the same ones). Ended up with two new pair of jeans, or actually one of them is jeggins but who cares! I also got some new boots so that I now no longer have to freeze my feet off in my converse. I love them so much!!

After that we went to celebrate my cousin who is turning 18 very soon. Had some lovely chocolate cake and afterwards we went to a thai restaurant to have dinner. Went back home and then spent the rest of the evening watching a movie with my dad and skyping with my boyfriend.
His birthday gift has arrived at his apartment but I have told him to let the doorman keep it for now so that I can pick it up when I get there. Don't want him to guess what he is getting.

I have enjoyed spending Christmas with my boyfriend this year. It's the first time that has happened but it's not going to be the last, that's for sure.

Sorry for not updating but I haven't had access to the internet and when I have I've been too busy being with my family.

Celebrated Christmaseve in Sweden with my mother, stepdad, two siblings, grandmother, aunt, her new boyfriend and my own boyfriend. It was really lovely.
The day after we went to my grandmothers house to celebrate some more so we got to see some more relatives which is always nice.

This morning I took my boyfriend to the train and he went back to London (should be taking off soon actually) and later on my family and I are going to my grandmother on my fathers side to see some more family and have some delicious Christmas food!

I will get around to telling you all what I got this Christmas but right now I'm heading upstairs to watch Peter Pan with my two siblings. I have to take care of the time we have together when I'm here.

Denmark

I'm in Denmark now! Had a lovely traditional danish dinner with the family and then I bought the gift I'm giving my boyfriend on his 28th birthday which is soon. Internet shopping is the best, so much access, right from the computer!

Now I'm just browsing the web and soon I'll be heading to bed.

Traveling abroad

Just finished a phone call with my bank informing them that I will be traveling to Denmark and Sweden for the holidays. This way I can use my card without any fees and they won't mistaken it for being stolen and block it.
Thanks to my old room mate who gave me a heads up on this!

Cancelled trains to the airport

Once I got to the metro station where I was gonna change to the RER I bought my ticket and then went to the platform. There I found out that they had cancelled ALL of the trains going to the airport. Surprise!
I spotted a guy with two suitcases who seemed just as surprised as me and then offered him to split a cap. So that we did and here I am, in good time for my flight.

When the end is good, all is good :)

Drama at Abercrombie

Had a day full of drama and misunderstandings today at work. Horrible but it turned out fine. It's hard to keep track of everything when there are like ten managers that each think they know best. Enough about that. Tomorrow morning I'm going home to Denmark! Crazy excited!!

Bought the last gifts today, last minute, but I wanted some small souvenirs :)

Work

Was at work for 11 hours today. Pretty exhausted so I'm getting some sleep now!

Ouch

Bleached my teeth today and that's pretty much all I did. Even though I was planning on going to work after I had to call and cancel and I don't think I'll be working tomorrow either. It's a shame cause it's an 11 hour shift = good money.

Even though it was painful (didn't think it would be..) I'm happy it's now done and I only have one more thing left to do and then my teeth are FINALLY complete.

Just another amazing day

Today I worked for five hours or so and I actually really enjoyed it. The entire time! Think it was because I got to be in the fitting room near the end of my shift which allows me to do something more than just dancing around and being a happy person.

Afterwards I went to this lovely Christmas get together at some friends of my family. There was a lot of nice people and we had some amazing glögg and cake (don't tell anyone but I had a lot of cake..)

Got home and had a great talk with my boyfriend who I'm spending my Christmas with. So excited about that!

Early Sunday morning

Good morning everyone!
Got up early today only to realize that I start work one hour later than expected. But I don't mind! This gave me time to do the laundry and clean a little.

At my old place

After recovering from last night I went to my old room mate and we watched a movie and had dinner. Tried horse meet for the first time and it's actually very tasty! (sorry Frida)
I now have my plane tickets for when I'm leaving on Thursday printed out so I'm all good to go.
Tomorrow I'm doing a shift at A&F and after that I'm attending a small Christmas get-together :)

L'ark

Yesterday after work I met with a friend who also works on Champs Élysées. We bought a bottle of wine, went to my place and had some dinner. After that we went to l'ark (French for "the ark"). Had a great time and got to know some more people from work!
We took a buss home in the middle of the night, or should I say early morning..

To sum it up: we had a great evening with lots of fun :)

A photo shoot that never happened

Got offered to do a photo shoot for one full day next week for the price of 200€ but my agency told me that that was a ridiculously low price for something like that so it's not going to happen. Makes me think about how much people usually pay for something like that.. Guess I will find out at some point ;)

10 days till Christmas!

Can you believe it? There is only 10 days left to my favorite Holliday of the year!

Have bought things for most of my family already but I can see that some of it might not get delivered on time :( most of it will so that's good, the rest I will have to deal with. Find something else perhaps.

Late night blogging

I'm just about to fall asleep, but realized I haven't updated my blog today! So here it goes:

Worked at A&F from 9.30-15.00 and after that I went straight to the dentist.
It only took like ten minutes and I'm happy with the result. Now it just has to heal.
After the dentist I went to Metropolitan to show the result and to talk about a photo shoot.
Went straight back home and by the time I got here I was in quite a lot of pain so I jut cuddled up in bed with a movie and tried to think of something else. Now the pain has gone so that's all good :)

Did some skype-ing with my bf, who I have been with for 8 months now! <3

Sweet dreams everyone

Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning

As you might have guessed from the title, yes, I have been doing some holly dolly Christmas cleaning (which is just like regular cleaning but while listening to Christmas music)
Also bought all of my presents for the family which I'm very happy about! Let's just hope Santa will deliver on time ;)
All I have left to do before I can go home and enjoy the holidays is to buy a gift for my younger brother and print out the plane ticket.

La Poste

Finally got around to going to the post office, buying some stamps and sending my Christmas cards to all of my grandparents. They should arrive in 3 to 4 days so that is all good!

Postcards

Have finished writing a postcard to all of my grandparents back in Denmark so today I will send them and hopefully they will arrive before Christmas.

Decided on a dentist

Today I finally decided on what dentist that will be doing my teeth. The one I chose is very good at what he is doing and has a great reputation in Paris.
I start already this Thursday with doing my gums, and then on Monday I do the next step in the process towards getting that perfect Colgate smile. I'm very pleased that everything should be done by the end of January which is in like a month!

A&F casting

Today I did a casting for the worldwide Abercrombie & Fitch campaign which will be launched next year. They took some pictures, made a short video and that was pretty much it. I went really well and I think I made a good impression so I'm looking forward to see if they contact me in the middle of January. If they do (when they do, I keep telling myself) I will be going to the US for one week to do the whole shooting.
It would be an amazing experience, good money and a great excuse to get a mac book since they are so much cheaper there.

First day, Done!

Back home from my first day at work and I'm quite tired I have to admit. Even though it was "only" five and a half hours it feels like a long time cause all I do is dance and greet people. I feel even more motivated to actually learn french now cause that is needed in order to be a cashier.

Now I'm gonna have a little dinner and then I'm getting some sleep!
Tomorrow I have things to do and I want to be fresh and well rested.

2 weeks till Christmas

Can't believe there is only two weeks left till Christmas eve. For once I felt like I was in good time with gifts for the family but time ran away and now I need to get it together and get it done! I'm working tomorrow as well but Wednesday is my day off so I might spend it on gift purchases.
Sunday I'm having Glögg at a friend of the families place so I will get a little Christmas feeling then hopefully.   

Work

Heading to Abercrombie at Champs Élysées, working from 3 to 8.30. Even though I did work a bit yesterday today is still my first "real" day at work. It's just like in London except in French!

Have been considering applying for the cashier position cause I feel there is more challenge in that rather thank just hanging around.

At the movies

At the movie theater now and we are going to watch The Impossible. I'm super excited cause it seems like a movie I would really love!
To bad I'm not "allowed" to have soda and sweets on the side, but hey, that's life.

First day at Abercrombie

I'm back home after my first day at Abercrombie & Fitch. As I had expected it's very similar to what I did at Hollister and Gilly Hicks in London during the summer.
Now I'm waiting for my boyfriend to arrive and then we are having dinner. Possibly going to the movies first.

Catching up

Had a long talk with a friend from home and it was lovely! I'm so happy for the things that's going on in her life right now and I just wish I could be there to share it with her.

New door

They are changing the door in my current apartment which is absolutely great! It's hopefully going to help keep the heat in.
How ever, that's not the case right now since there is no door, just a big whole in the wall. Wearing my ski jacket to bed and when I breath there is "smoke" coming out of my mouth.
Something to tell the grandchildren about one day! haha

Birthday party

Ups and downs

I'm sorry for not having updated my blog the last days despite me being in Paris..
Yesterday was quite a mess, trouble with the bank and so on, and so on.

But Today! Today has been marvelous! I finally got to sign the contract at Abercombie & Fitch and I'm starting on Sunday. My credit card miraculously started working! I'm going to a birthday party tonight and in 2 days my dear is coming to see me! 

I also got to talk with my family at home and it's was great. It always motivates me! Love you guys <3

Back in Paris

Back from an amazing weekend with some lovely people in Val d'Isère. The place was beautiful and I got to try a lot of delicious traditional French food!
But now I'm back from the snow and ready to take on this weeks challenges. First thing: move all of my things to the new apartment in the 13th arr.

Internet banking..

My internet banking still isn't up and running and to be honest it's quite frustrating.. I'm paying the bank a visit tomorrow before lunch to see if they can fix all of this for me. They better! haha

Job on the side

Today in the afternoon I met with my "soon to be roommate" to go with her to event agency she is working for. Got myself a job there so now I can bring in some money while the hole process of being a model takes its sweet little time.
Such a relief to have something "safe". Stating tomorrow already, and there will be a lot to do this month since Christmas is around the corner.

A third dentist

Went to a third dentist today but it's safe to say I won't be going there to get what I need. It didnt feel clean and well.. Enough said!

After the dentist I went on a 3 hour long walk with an old friend, and afterwards we had Chinese food in Montmartre. It was lovely!

A nap a day keeps the doctor away

For some reason I wasn't feeling very well this morning so when I got back from the bank I took a little nap and now I'm already feeling better. Glad that's the case since I want to be feeling great for this weekend when I'm going "skiing"!

Got my MasterCard

Finally got my personalized credit card and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. The only downside is that the whole proses has been very long but now everything is sorted out. I activate the card, but some cash on it and my boyfriend transferred my money to my new account so in two days or so I should have all of it. By tonight my internet-banking should also be up and running, so that's all good!

Homework

Even though I'm currently living in Paris (YEAH!) I still have to do homework and follow the course that is going on back home. I communicate with my teacher on Facebook, and this week I have to get something done about different poets and authors from the late 1700 to the early 1800. It's not the thing I enjoy the most, but fortunately for me I find it quite interesting. Spent two hours on it this morning but I better get going so I'm well prepared. I would really like to finish it today because I know I will have a very busy week starting from tomorrow. 

"Stress".. in a good way?

Oh the joy of having things to do. I completely lack motivation to do anything when I only have a few/no plans. I have come to the realization that I have to keep myself occupied or else I just go in sleep mode and I hate when a day has gone by and I feel like it's completely wasted. Anyone else get that?
Most of this week has been like this, even though I have gotten quite a few things done and out of the way. For some strange reason I just function best when under pressure and with a little stress. Then I'm super motivated and have everything under control.

This is one of the reasons I'm looking forward to Monday and just the next week in general. I have a lot of things to get done! Not going to bore you all with all the details but I'm moving to a new apartment so I have to pack all of my things together. Also I'm going skiing with my love and some friends. It's going to be so much fun!!!

French IKEA

I have been trying to find a store that is actually located inside central Paris that is comparable to IKEA (all of their warehouses are not easy to get to unless you have a car), and so finally I got a tip about a store called HEMA. Granted it's not IKEA but at least it's close by! Prices are reasonably and they have a good variety of things for the home. This is especially exciting for me since I'm soon moving to a new apartment in the 13th (living currently in the 12th)
The only thing is that with my current income I have to think, at least twice (!), before spending any money on things that are not strictly necessary. 

Confession

I have to confess.. I'm listening to Christmas music, all the time.
There, I said it! Phew.. feels good.

Still no accessible bank account

Starting to get tired of this hole thing... If it's not solved in the beginning of next week I will be going else where to have some other people handling my banking! 

I have been looking for Christmas gifts for most of the family but a lot of it is something that you have to order online and since I'm still waiting for my credit card it's pretty damn challenging. 

Have any of you decided on what to give to your loved ones or what you are going to put on your own wish-list?

Still awaiting bank details

It's been two weeks and I still haven't got my account number or credit card which has forced me to live on cash. I should have both of the above within the next 48 hours but I have become quite fond of dealing with cash. It's easy to get a overview and to track you spending. Guess some of the economy classes payed off!

Two weeks in Paris

Today it's exactly two weeks since I arrived in this breath taking city. I feel that I'm already developing deep feelings for the place but at the same time I haven't even realized where I am. It's insane but true!
Just talked with my grandmother on the phone and it's going to be great to get home to the entire family during Christmas. I know it's super corny but I'm already listening to Christmas music on a special "nöel" radio channel.. Haha
Looking forward to it more than usually :)

Staying in tonight

After a night out yesterday I didn't really feel much like going out again tonight, especially since I have a dentist appointment tomorrow morning.
Spent my time at home today cleaning the apartment and it was just lovely to get to sit down and enjoy a well prepared meal that my roommate cooked. Now I'm going to clean a little more, make the bed and then just sit back and watch The Avengers. What a perfect way to end this day!

Computer update

Yesterday evening me and my room mate went through my computer and deleted a lot of unnecessary programs and just generally things that were taking up space. Installed a few things and now it's bearable again! Actually very happy about it, even though it took a long long time, so many thanks to my room mate who is just awesome with computers. 

My first photo shoot

Now I'm finally getting around to actually writing about the photo shoot I did on Saturday.

At 10 in the morning I showed up at the location which where a small restaurant under renovation. Shortly after the makeup artist arrived and he got started on my makeup. I ended up with a quite neutral eye and very dark plummy/burgundy lips. Lovely! When he was done the hair stylist worked his makeup and made my hair pin straight. Got into the first outfit; a black draped dress, and started with the actual pictures. The photographer was great, telling me what emotion he was looking for and what position he had in mind. It was amazing and I enjoyed it so much more than I would have thought (which is a lot.. haha) It was completely like acting, and that I have always loved. You are given a role, or an emotion which you then have to try to express with your whole body.
The outfits changed and so did the locations, within the restaurant. We shot upstairs,  in the kitchen, by the end of the stairs, in the main area and in the cellar. At one point I was inside an old fridge where they used to store meat. Any person from the outside seeing me go crazy in a fridge must have thought we were all completely nuts but I saw some of the pictures and with the lighting and everything it turned out great!

After nine hours we were finally done. Said our goodbyes and then I went to the metro to go home. It was like as when I left my adrenalin stayed behind. My body was tired and sore from standing in exhausting positions and being cold almost the entire time. Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean you get to wear warm clothes. Thank goodness for the small heater the photographer brought with him. It became my best and most appreciated friend in no time!

All there is left to do now is just wait for the pictures to be done and then I can start going to castings, and hopefully book lots of jobs.
Now I feel like I know a little more of what it's really about and so far I love it. It's as far from easy as you can get, but it's a thrill!

Flying home for Christmas

Today I have been looking at plane tickets so that I can be with the family during the holidays. Finally found some that are reasonably priced but since I'm not the only one who wants to be with the loved ones for Christmas it's not exactly cheap Still.. Money well spent!

Celebrate good times, come on!

Celebrated my first photo shoot with a banana split at midnight together with my boyfriend. It has been an amazing day and I promise to tell you more about it tomorrow but right now I need to sleep.

Moving on the first of December!

It's official! I'm moving in with a super lovely girl on the first day of the Christmas month! Looking forward to it even though I really like my current room mate and the apartment we share. Have already asked around to see if I can help him find someone else that can move in when I leave.

My next place will be more permanent and I really look forward to get a little more setteled and make it my own :)

First class dentist

I already love this dentist! The place is so calm and cosy, everyone is nice and when they did the x-ray the mashing was playing calm classic music. It was hard not to smile.

In the metro

The meeting with the photographer wet well, such a nice guy and easy to talk to. Not the least bit worried about tomorrow! Had a cafe creme and went over what's doing to happen tomorrow as well as just chatting about small stuff.

Colgate smile

After the meeting with the photographer for the shoot I mentioned in my last blogpost I have a dentist appointment. They are gonna see what they can do to give me that perfect Colgate smile. I'm curious to what they have in mind because as most of you know I've had some minor problems with my teeth over the last couple of years ;)
Anyway, nothing is gonna be done today. It will simple be an examination.

Cuppa tea

Enjoying a cup of warm mint tea and the radio after having cleaned up a bit in the apartment.

My better half is coming to visit me for the weekend which I'm very excited about!
Have had a morning full of planing but now everything is set.
At 2pm I'm meeting with the photographer to discuss the shoot that will be going down tomorrow all day. From what I can tell from the story board I have received its going to be a very dark theme.

Looking for accommodations

Today I will be visiting another apartment :) hopefully its nice and the people as well.

French sim-card

In the afternoon my boyfriends mother stopped by for a cup of tea. It was really nice and she brought my French sim-card that was sent to her address. This means that I can now call, text and update my blog when I'm on the go (which is the case now.. On the last metro home).

Its a good way to pass the time when being on the metro plus I get to tell you guys at home about what's going on in my life in Paris.

"Drinks" with friends

Went out tonight with some friends for drinks. Got to know a bunch of really nice Australian girls and we are all meeting up tomorrow for more drinks and dinner. Had a cafe latte at one place and at the next one I got some lovely tea.
Drinking is nice but I'm trying to avoid alcohol when I'm not going out to party.
Healthy healthy healthy!

Today's workout

My workout of the day consisted of 20 min on the rowing machine, 20 min walking and 20 min of (in lack or better terms) "bodybuilding" focusing on my legs and but.
Feels great to get it done and I'm trying to go to the gym five or six days a week.

Casting for Cosmopolitan

After having taken all the pictures needed at the agency I ran off to a casting for Cosmopolitan.
Not to sure I will get the job but at least I got the experience of running through the metro and streets of Paris. (like a real model, haha)

Shake it like a Polaroid picture

Good morning everyone! Been up early and had a lovely breakfast consisting of a natural yoghurt with a spoon of protein powder, a boiled egg and a cup of green mint tea. Feeling healthy as can be!

In a few minutes I will be of to the metro heading towards an American Apparel store where I will be shopping for some underwear that I will be wearing for the photo shoot at 11 o'clock.

Signed the contract

Today I signed the contract at Metropolitan models! Trilled about the fact that I now have one year to give all it I've got and I couldn't be more happy and motivated about it. Signed Metropolitan as my mother agency as well.
Tomorrow at 11.00 I will be taking my first polaroid pictures and from then on start building my book.
A lot of other things happened to me today but this is definitely the main one, so just thought I'd let you know. Will write about the rest in the morning.

Meeting with Metropolitan

New in: I'm going to Metropolitan to have a talk with them at 16.30 pm!
But first I'm going to the gym where I have an appointment with a personal trainer at 12.15.

Good mornig

Have a few things planned out for today so I'm excited to get going. Will be sure to keep you all updated on what is going on in the city of cities.

Club Med Gym

After researching a lot of gyms in Paris I finally decided on club med gym. It's convincing because there are so many of them located all over the city. There happens to be one five minutes walk from my current place which is great!
The downside is the price. 80 euros/month, and that's the cheapest option there is. Since I still study a few courses via my high school back in Sweden I still count as a student and therefor I get a discount, so will "only" be paying 60 euros/month.
I have had to accept the fact that this expense is necessary and a part of my job. A banker has to wear suits when he goes to work, and I have to be fit when I go to work.  

Visit from London

My boyfriend is in Paris for the weekend to handle some things with the family, which is great for me cause I get to see him!

Abercrombie & Fitch

Today I went to Abercrombie & Fitch to apply for a job. Lucky for me there was an interview an hour later at a place nearby so I went! It was the same as the one in London only this one were in French. Obviously.
Afterwards I went with three other people from the interview to a cafe and had some drinks. Exchanged names and number and there you go! First sign of a social life for me in this new city.

My first day in Paris

This morning I arrived in Paris and I had a nice and calm, yet productive day. Got to know my flat mate a little more, such a nice guy! Opened a bank account, did some shopping and had dinner.
Now it's quite late and I have a lot of things planed for tomorrow but I can't seem to fall asleep...

Laying in a new bed, in a new apartment, in a new city, in a new country, far away from everyone I know. It scares me and excites me at the same time, and that's good cause it's the way it should be.

Work that!

Sent an email to metropolitan to ask if they have any gyms they can recommend me. I want to continue my workout as fast as possible when I arrive since I have to be in the best possible shape for the making of my book.

LCHF

LCHF - Low Carb High Fat.

I have stated using this method and so far I really like it! It's not anything that have spread much beyond Scandinavia but I think it will happen, slowly but surely. Basically you don't eat ANY carbs or sugar but you are free to eat very fatty foods. So far I have liked it a lot! There are some jummy recopies out there and the best thing is that you stay full. It's not one of those things were you are constantly feeling hungry and tempted and when eating fat food your body feels satisfied. 

Give it a try if you feel like it, and if it sounds weird to you there are websites with more information than I can give you.   

Enjoying London

Tired after a long and refreshing walk in Hyde Park. It feels great to have everything more or less solved about the hole Paris thing. Felt so happy and energetic that I even took the stairs! That's 7 floors.. phew. 

Later today I will be playing squash for the first time ever, so quite excited about that. Hopefully I wont get to many bruises. 

Eurostar to Paris

On Thursday morning, at such an early time I don't even want to tell you, I will be traveling from London to Paris by train. Aah, finally getting on my way!

Finally!

I can now happily announce that I have found a place to stay in Paris for the next couple of months. Such a relief!! My apologies for not updating you guys on what has been going on but now that it seems to be solved I can finally get back to blogging.

Danes in Paris

Just posted something on a Facebook group for young Danish people in Paris. Hoping it will give some sort of result cause the Swedish one didn't.

Talked to a guy yesterday and his grandmother is renting a small studio for only 500 euros a month! Would be great for me and there is even access to both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Unfortunately there is already someone living there and it doesn't seem like he is going to move out any time soon. But one can always hope!!

Chicken soup for the soul

Enjoying some warm lovely chicken soup that I picked up in Soho. Went there to get a wig and some other goodies for Halloween! Now I'm back at the apartment and all ready to continue my search for a place to stay in Paris. Only four days till I leave London.

Skyfall

Yesterday evening we went to see the new James Bond and I absolutely loved it! I must say, it's the first time I ever laughed (that much) during a 007 movie. Literary the whole audience burst into laughter several times!

And of course you can complain when it's Daniel Craig himself fighting evil up on the big screen. 

Much enjoyed, would definitely recommend it!

Packing, check.

Set the alarm for 6.00 tomorrow morning. Done with moving all of the heavy luggage into the carry-on bag as the check-in bag has a maximum weight limit of 20kg. Our scale appears to be broken so I can just hope that it doesn't weight more than what's allowed.
Better get some sleep, tomorrow it's London calling.

Just managed to enter the wrong pin-code three times. Have a lot of codes for different sim-cards so it's easy to get them mixed up. Damn it.

French App

Downloaded a bunch of applications for my iPhone so that I can practice and improve my so far non-excistent French. Beginning on a very basic level with numbers, but hey! you've got to start somewhere.

Goodbye for now

Finally got to the point were all my bags were packed, the room was cleared and I was all ready to go. Funny how you know you are going and yet all of the sudden moving day has arrived, from out of nowhere!
My family drove me to the train station and on the way I made sure to take a good look at everything since I won't be seeing it again for a while.

Said goodbye to my family in Sweden, just like I had with all my friends, and then I was off to my dads place in Copenhagen.

It's only a goodbye for now, I will be back before you know it <3

Hide and seek

Were playing hide and seek with my UK sim-card for a while, but managed to find it at last. Phew!

Mission impossible

Just HOW am I meant to be able to pack all the things I need into one suitcase?! Somehow I just keep finding things that is an absolute must to bring.. my goodness, this will take all night.

Last evening

I just realized that I will not be spending another evening with my family in a very long time. Even though you would think I should have realized all of this already I can only tell you that I have not. I still can't get the fact that I'm moving, in to my head. It's like when ever I tell myself that I'm actually going to Paris to work as a model for a big agency, it just sounds like a joke.
What I worked for finally came true, but now when reality hits I find myself to be terrified by the thought of leaving what I know. Funny how we are all like that. Deeply wanting something but when it hits us we don't take the chance. No matter how much easier it would be to just stay home and continue my normal way of life, I won't do it! I have come to far to give it all up. 

A temporary place to stay

At the moment I am talking to a guy who is renting a room in a really nice apartment. The only thing is that it's way above my budget... I have proposed a deal since I will only be staying a month and a half before moving into someplace more permanent. Now all I can do is just wait and see.

Packing away

Packed a lot of my things away already and my room is beginning to feel more empty. Just took down the pictures on walls. It's so confusing to think that tonight will be my last night in this room.
Turning the music up and now it's back to packing!

My day with Metropolitan - The photo shoot

On request  I will be going a little more into details about what happened at Metropolitan.

Before I left the agency I had to get some pictures taken. The photographer was just the nicest person! Since I have pretty much no experience he was really kind on helping me, commenting what to do and what to think of when going to a casting. He gave so many helpful tips such as how to put your hair up, were to position hands and arms when taking a picture, and much much more. Not only were he very helpful, he was also very good at making you feel comfortable. After all, standing in your underwear might not be the most natural thing for a lot of people.

Once the pictures were taken we continued on to making the introduction video. I was asked to tell some basic things about my self and then walk around, turn, smile, flip my hair and what not. This was by far the hardest thing to accomplish. Remembering what to say, when to say it, how to move and keeping track of basically every little detail of your body. Now, while doing this you of course need to look smiling and confident.
We did this three times before I got it right and there is definitely room for improvement! But hey, it was my first time doing this and I think I managed to get through it pretty well.

Last day

Today is my last full day with my family. Tomorrow after lunch I will travel with all my bags (which are btw not even packed yet) to Copenhagen to spend the night at my dads place before I fly to London on Wednesday.

Were to look

Have found that there is a lot of help to get from the different church communities in Paris. There is a big Danish one, a Swedish one and a Norwegian one. It's made specifically for young people moving abroad and to me it seems like a great idea! You can discuss different matters and get helpful tips and advice. Posted an add on the Swedish one earlier today, so hoping for a reply within the next few days. 

Packing update

Feel like I should have done a lot of packing today. Well... that didn't happen!

Priceless

The help I'm getting from my boyfriend is absolutely amazing! Helping me look online on french sites, asking his friends, calling the people who have rooms available, and I could just keep going!
Guess I could manage myself in some way if I had to, but the fact that he speaks french makes it that much smoother.

Truly grateful. <3

Long distance studies

While I'm in Paris I will be continuing some of my courses. One of them is Swedish and when talking to the teacher today we found out that I don't have all the books necessary, and the school is closed this week cause of the holidays. This creates a problem, but fortunate enough for me I have such a nice teacher, he offered to drop the book at my house tomorrow!

A temporary place

After thinking it over I think I'm gonna try to find a place just for the next couple of months and then once I'm in Paris it will be easier to meet people and find someone that I would like to live with permanently. It's really hard to know what kind of people you will end up with by just talking to them online.

Get back on the horse

Didn't get the appartment I was hoping for. Damn! It would have been amazing..
I will just keep on looking, not much else to do.

Another goodbye for now

Went to see a friend of mine and we had a lovely dinner together. She even got me some goodbye gifts: a really cute bracelet and a tank top! Gonna miss her like crazy

A place to stay

I'm absolutely trilled that I have finally found a place to rent in Paris. Have to credit my boyfriend for doing a lot of the work and talking to the guy who is renting it.

It is a 15 m2 studio on the 6th floor not far from the triumph arch. You can even see the eiffel tower since it's so high up! It is in good condition and I have my own kitchen and bath, very small of course.
It comes with a convertible sofa, thank goodness, and a couple of other things.
What is left to take care of now is all the paperwork that comes with renting an apartment, but other than that I'm technically good to go! Well.. Almost. Just need to pack first.

Back to school

Went to school today to check in online and print my one way ticket to London. Things are getting real!

Passport arrival

Yesterday my passport arrived in the mail. Such a relief since I will be leaving soon and I was worried they wouldn't have time to send to me all the way from Denmark.
Weird that I will be having this passport for the next ten years. Hopefully it will accompany me to a lot of places all over the world.

Back on track

Monday. The perfect day to get a grip on yourself and get the things done that you happily ignored during the weekend.

Anniversary gift

My boyfriend and I are celebrating our 6 months anniversary this weekend and I have decided to get him 6 individual gifts. Some are things to do, some are things to eat and so on.
All of the things are very personal and that is really what I wanted to give him. Not just something I bought in a store but something were I use the things I know about him to create something that hopefully he will like.
They will be spread out over the entire weekend. All I can do now is to hope for some nice weather.. That's all I'm saying!

Quality time

Spent some time with my mum today, just the two of us. That doesn't happen to often since I have two younger siblings.

For her birthday she got a small chain with paper notes on it with the numbers 1-100 and she takes one everyday and that number then matches a gift that she receives the day after. It can be both small and big things from the whole family.
Today's gift was a manicure with a hand & arm massage given by me.

We listened to music and drank tea. I really enjoy and appreciate all the small things knowing that I am leaving home in 12 days.

Dear friend of mine

Went to visit one of my friends that I haven't seen for quite some time now and it was so much fun. Talked, laughed, looked at old pictures of us and took some new.
I really try to spend some more time with them before I'm leaving to Paris.

Pay me a visit

Tomorrow evening at this time I will have my loved one here with me in Sweden. It hasn't been long since we saw each other last time (would count as long if it was not a long-distance relationship) but I miss him every day. Can't wait to spend time with him and see him in real life. A little bit better than Skype. Just a little.

Header

I really want a header. My blog looks so empty and boring without one, but I don't know how to make it!
I'm sure it's very simple and easy but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Lame excuse.. I know.

Outside class

 Sitting outside the classroom by a computer. We were going through a test that's coming up and I will already have left the country by then so I asked if I had to attend the class. Turns out I don't, thanks to my awesome teacher.

Keep on searching

Still looking for a permanent place to stay in Paris, turns out it's not that easy. I'm so happy that I know people, who knows people, who knows people.It's such a great help and I don't know what I would do without it. As it is now I just feel like I'm drowning in French adds on the internet. Thank god for Google translate! The translation is not a 100% correct I think you can agree.. but at least I get a good laugh out of it.

New passport

Finally got the whole passport thing out of the way so now I have one less thing to think about! One can only hope that it arrives before I am leaving...

Brave

Took my littlebrother to the movies today to see Brave. Had such a great time with him and the fact that I am moving away is not anything I want to be thinking about right now.

Early to bed

I was just about to start watching a movie on my computer but then I thought to myself..
-"Why not go to bed early and get a good nights sleep?"
 And that is excatly what I am going to do. Right after I have removed my makeup (super important!)

Swimming

Went swimming today! Did 600 meters and then I had to stop because my little sister wanted to do something else. Love swimming and since the indoor pools near were I live in Sweden is closed I am happy I have the chance to do it while I am at my dad's place in Copenhagen.
Might even go there tomorrow as well. Fun, fun, fun, and a great workout!

Looking for a simple place to stay for a couple of days in Paris before I move into the "permanent" appartment and where to look other than on AirBnB?
You can search through peoples profile and see if you can find someone renting out a room for a good price in a close neighborhood. When it comes to the bigger cities like Paris there is a lot to choose from!

Six months

Today my boyfriend and I is having our six months anniversary! He is currently in Paris and I am in Copenhagen, but I will see him next weekend.

Half a year went by and I just fall more and more in love with him everytime we meet.

Send me a letter

The internet. Do not know how I could make it without! Alright, so maybe I could but it sure does make it a lot easier to keep in touch with the people you love that is far away.

Passport

Tomorrow I am going to Denmark to renew my passport. It is expiring in a few months so I need to get it done before I leave. Hope the picture is gonna turn out okay since I will be stuck with it for quite some time.

31st of October

Just bought a one way ticket to London. Will be leaving home on the 31 st and go to spend the weekend with my boyfriend. That weekend is also Halloween! Super excited to come up with my costume. Absolutely love dressing up and being scary!

Done with school

Ever since I took the final decision about moving away from home and go to Paris I have found it hard to stay focused on school. I have always been an eager student (at least to some extent) but now I feel like there is no meaning in spending my time and energy on something I will be leaving soon anyway.
At first I was feeling quite guilty for not having the same interest, but as I have talked about it with some teachers and my parents I have found out that it is quite natural.
I think sometime during next week I will stop going to school and focus on packing and organising everything. It is quite a mouthful!

Looking for a room

In the process of finding a room to rent in Paris.
It seems to be very hard to find something that has a good location (there are some areas that I will be avoiding) and also for the right price. Most importantly; with the right people! I will be living with them so it is important for me that it is someone I can have a nice and relaxed relationship with.
Have been searching all over the internet.

Do you guys know any good sites for that?

One box done

Done filling one of the storrage/moving boxes. It is nice to feel that I am actually getting something done but at the moment my room is a complete mess and I do not even know were to begin.
I will also need to go through all of my clothes to find out exactly which garments I am brining and which that will just be packed away for now.

Packing my life into a box

My mind is spinning as I go over all the things in my room that needs to be packed down.
I can not believe that I am actually moving to PARIS.
Traveling with my suitecase it is pretty obvious that I can not bring all of my things with me. Most of it will be left behind at my parents place. When I leave my little sister will be taking over my room as it is the biggest of them all. Therefor I have to pack all my belongings in big brown moving boxes. Not sure if they have a specific name and if they do, I am not aware.

Hair tie

Having a small black hair tie in the backpocket of my jeans when going to the casting turned out to be an absolutely great idea.
You get into a lot of situations were you need to put your hair up for them to be able to see your face and profile.
Most definitely something I will keep doing. Great tip for all of you models out there!

My day with Metropolitan

I would like to share with you all the things that happened the day I had my meeting with Metropolitan Paris. As earlier mentioned I am sorry it took me a while to publish it but better late than never as they say.

My meeting started at 4 pm so I made sure to be in the area some time before.
I talked to some different people and I got measured, both lengt and hight.
Afterward they wanted to take some pictures of me in black underwear and I had not brought any. So home I went. Fortunately enough the appartment I was staying in was located near by.
Went back and got a lot of pictures taken as well as a small presentation video. The photografer was just the nices guy!

Afterwards I had a talk about workout and diet while getting more thurrely measured.
Lastly I had to go through some paperwork with one of the empoyes to register in the agency.

Went home with both the english version of the one year contract I will be signing and also a big smile on my face.

That was all I had to say about that for now, but please let me know if you want be to go into details on anything.

Apology

Let me just start of by saying how sorry I am for not blogging in a very long time.
Just after I got home from my trip to Paris I got sick and stayed that way for a week. Have been in bed unable to do anything at all.
But! I am back on track and after what happened in Paris I feel even more motivated to blogg.
So keep an eye out cause I will be sure to update from here on after.

Digital portfolio

Besides my black leather portfolio I always bring my portable USB memory stick with me when meeting with an agency. On this I keep my personal information such as body measurements, hair and eye color and contact information (phone number, mail etc.) It is also a good thing to inform if you have any piercings, tatoos or noticable scaring.
Besides from all of this I also keep some more pictures than the ones I present in the actuall portfolio. It is easy to change and to ad more, digitaly, if you are in a hurry.

Planning ahead

Just finished searching for all the depature and arival times for my trip tomorrow. Have to make quite a few transportation changes so I like to be a little ahead by writing everything down on my iPhone so that I can access it even without 3G or Wifi. I am sure it will go smoothly, as always.

Weekend

My weekend starts now even though it is only Thursday. Not attending school tomorrow because I am traveling to Paris to meet my boyfriend and have dinner with his parents. Do not know how often I am going to be able to update my blog but I will do my very best.
Next up, packing!

Body Combat

Tried a new form of work out today at the gym called BodyCombat. Was so exchausting and now I am going straight to bed to (hopefully) recover.
Printed out my planetickets for the weekend today as well, so now all I have left is the packing.

Think before you sign

Keep in mind that it is an absolute must to look through your modelling contract, and maybe have someone who knows more about it go through it as well, before you sign!
I know that when you get to the time and place were you are about to sign you are so thrilled and eager to get your new carreer started that you do not even care. Please take a moment and think before you sign. A good tip is to take the contract with you so that you can examine it in the comfort of your own home.
Not everyone will be trying to trick you but there is people out there who will, so be careful!

Meeting with Metropolitan

On monday I have at meeting with Metropolitan in Paris at four pm. Super excited!
Went out to purchase a black, very simple bathing suit that I will be wearing for the meeting. Under my clothes of course. Not going to show up in swim wear just like that.

A tip for all of you that might be going to a casting or even a job interview: Be yourself and relax. Take a deep breath and smile! When you are feeling comfortable with yourself it is going to easier for you to handel unexpected situations and you are going to send out a professional signal.

News from France

Just recieved an email from my uncle. He talked to the agency and they need a video of me in a black bathingsuit walking and turning around myself sent to them as soon as possible! Apparently they might be looking for a specific model for a specific commersial job. One can only hope that they find me suitable for the job.
Therefore, tomorrow after school, I will be going shopping for a black v-neck bathings suit. Have absolutely now idea where I am going to find it since all the stores are now selling autum clothes.
Will have to deal with that tomorrow. First I need to get some sleep.

Running out of time

Starting too feel the preasure more and more as days go by with no answer from my uncle in France. He is going trough a lot at the moment, personal things, so I offered to go to the meeting with Metropolitan in Paris by myself at the end of this week. If I do not hear anything from him tomorrow then I will have to book the plane tickets either way because I am spending the weekend in Paris with my dear boyfriend. I just have to trust that everything is going to work out fine.
At least I have a romantic weekend in the city of love to look forward to!

Elite

Earlier today I was emailing with Trice Tomsen and she wanted me to send her some very natural pictures without makeup. Sent her one from the side and one from the front with my hair back and now I am just waiting, with my fingers crossed, for an answer.

Contact is key

Yesterday I had a long talk with my uncle who is a lawyer, because I need someone to look through the contract I will be getting from Metropolitan next week. It ended with me getting the phone number of one of his friends who I then called and had a chat with. Got a new number from him and in the end I was talking to Trice Tomsen herself! In case you do not know who that is, I can tell you that she was one of the people who started Elite. Elite is a very successful agency and it has departments all over the world. She offered to look at some of my pictures to see if there is place for me in Elite Copenhagen.

What I am trying to tell you all is, do not be scared to call. I used to be completely terrified by picking up the phone and making a call. It is always a great thing to seek advice from people more experienced than you and you will be amazed with how willing they are to help and guide you.
Even the most successful person was ones young and inexperienced.

Hey what's up? Welcome to Hollister.

Just called Hollister on Regent street, were I have been working all summer as a model, to resign. The rules are that you have to work at least five hours a month and since I'm not living in London at the moment that is quite hard to accomplish. I have also been offered a model possision in Abercrombie and Fitch, both in London and Copenhagen but since I really want to give this hole Paris adventure a go I'm going to wait for a bit before I sign up with the company again.

Work it baby

Today is the day after a massive workout.
Went to the gym yesterday with my mother and participated in two classes and the stayed a little longer, just for the heck of it!
Felt amazing once it was over and I feel like I have something to work towards as I recently found out I'm going to Paris next week to meet with Metropolitan.
Super excited, so for the next couple of days I'm sticking to healthy foods and lots of exercise!
